Where to shop in Dublin

There is no shortage of places to shop within Dublin City Center. The best shopping areas in Dublin are located in the North side & South side of the city center, both within walking distance of each other.

Shopping in Dublin's North side

Shopping in Dublin's NorthsideDublin 1 is in the North side of the River Liffey and is where O'Connell Street is located. As you dander along O'Connell Street you'll see a number of popular stores such as Clery's Department Store and Eason's bookstore. On the left hand-side off O'Connell Street is Henry Street. Down here you'll find Arnotts, the Jervis Shopping Center and a wide range of smaller shops including ones hidden within all the side streets. You will also see the vast amount of Cafe's, restaurants and pubs that are dotted around Dublin's North side so your shopping trips doesn't have to be done when hungry or thirsty.

Shopping in Dublin's South side

Grafton Street of DublinAs you cross over O'Connell Bridge you enter the South side of Dublin. You are best walking towards Westmoreland Street which is the street on the right as you meet the fork in the road over O'Connell Bridge. As you walk up Westmoreland Street you'll notice how busy it is with traffic and pedestrians. A side street on the right hand side of Westmore Street will take you down Fleet Street into Temple Bar, another great district for more shopping. Grafton Street can be found by keeping straight on in Westmoreland Street, come across College Green and cross over the roads. You'll see the flurry of activity around this area. You'll known when you've reached Grafton Street as you walk upon the red brick pedestrians zone. Here you'll find some of the best shops in Ireland with all sorts of different shops amongst the lane way streets connecting to Grafton Street. As the very top of Grafton Street you see St Stephen's Green Shopping Center located on the right hand side. St Stephen's Green Shopping Center is a remarkable example of a great shopping experience.

If you are looking for a day out shopping in Dublin it is highly recommended to visit both the North side & South side of the City Center. Although both areas are within minutes of each other they do offer different shopping experiences.
