National Museum of Ireland

Archaeology and History
Located in Kildare street of Dublin City is the Museum of Archaeology and History. It has over 2,000,000 artefact's dating from early 7000BC to late medieval times. The museum houses some of the finest examples of prehistoric gold artefact's with amazing examples from the Celtic Iron Age. Some of the collection includes Egyptian artefact's that gives an insight into a culture from ancient history. Also on display is Ireland's political history that covers how Ireland became a republic.
Decorative Arts & History
Located at Collins Barracks the Decorative Arts and History museum has a wide range of exhibitions displaying weaponry, furniture, glassware,silver and ceramics. With some of the finest examples of historic arts such as a Chinese porcelain vase made in 1300 A.D or the William Smith O’ Brien Gold Cup this museum is highly recommended when visiting Dublin city.
Natural History
Located on Merrion Street the Natural History Museum has over 10,000 animals on display. The exhibitions are from the museum's collection of over two million specimens and cover a wide range of wildlife found in Ireland and all over the globe.
Country life
The Museum of Country Life is located in Turlough Park, County Mayo and covers the topic of life in rural Ireland from 1850 - 1950. This is the first National Museum to be based outside of Dublin City.
Opening Times - The museums are closed on Monday and opened from Tuesday until Sunday. Opening hours from Tuesday until Saturday is 10am to 5pm and on Sunday 2pm until 5pm.
